EduSystem and Lumi compete directly wherever you need a tool to build H5P interactives: our Lab module is the same class of H5P technology, and we sell it as a standalone product (the builder page on this site), just as Lumi sells its editor.
The difference is what comes in the bundle. With Lumi, finished content still has to be published somewhere: your own site, Moodle, WordPress — a separate cost and extra work. In EduSystem, Lab lives in the same ecosystem: there is somewhere to host it (a full branded LMS), a support team, and custom development — all at a lower price ($7/mo).
If you only need a builder, you can take Lab on its own. If you also need a platform with real support and the option to customize it to your process, that platform is already built in.
Side by side
How EduSystem and Lumi differ
Both build H5P-class interactives. The difference is the bundle: a branded LMS with Lab inside versus a builder you still have to publish somewhere else.

Lumi
Teachers, methodologists, tutors, schools, trainers — and not only in education: the platform is also used, for example, by neuropsychologists for interactive exercises
Teachers and methodologists who only need a tool to create and host H5P content
Ukrainian product: team, support, and development in Ukraine
Lumi Education UG (hb), Brückenstraße 8, Orum, Germany
The EduSystem team personally sets up the branded platform
Self-serve: desktop editor and/or Cloud; Moodle/WordPress/Drupal integration is on the client’s side
Full white-label (subdomain) on every plan; White-Label Pro — your own domain, from $900 one-time
Not a turnkey branded platform; Cloud has colored folder themes; custom theming is listed as “upcoming” on Pro
Course → module → lesson → assignment in one LMS
H5P content and folders; a full curriculum lives in your host LMS
Yes: progress, deadlines, materials, and a channel to the teacher
Cloud gives progress/insights per deployment — that is not a school student dashboard
Group and role management in the LMS
Pro has extended groups; project roles (teacher/student) live in your host LMS, not in Lumi
The platform’s activity set + the Lab module (H5P-based, no-code builder); custom activities — with the team
The full H5P content-type catalog (60+) for authoring and export
Currently .h5p only; HTML and SCORM export are in development
HTML, SCORM, and .h5p — all formats are available now
CRM when needed; the platform is a full LMS on its own
Built-in integration with Moodle, WordPress, Drupal; links, embed, QR code
On your own platform — one ecosystem, nothing extra to buy
With the content owner: you need your own site, Moodle, or WordPress to host it — a separate cost
Learning analytics and student progress across your platform
Learner insights within a specific Cloud deployment
EN/UK/RU by default; any other language can be added on request — that capability already exists
AlternativeTo lists English as the official supported language; the product UI has a language switcher, but admin-translation quality is not independently confirmed
24/7 support (AI assistant + team), a personal partner manager, help with your first Lab activity
Basic support on Free; priority in-app chat only on Pro (~€10/mo); Lumi’s public feedback board has open, documented bug reports
From $10/hour, available on any plan
Open-source code you can customize yourself; not hourly LMS custom work for your project
Free forever for up to 5 students, no card required
Desktop is free; Cloud Free exists; Cloud Pro is about €10/mo

Pricing compared in detail
The models are fundamentally different: EduSystem bills by active students (plus optional modules); Lumi bills for the content-creation tool (Free desktop / Cloud Free / Cloud Pro), regardless of how many learners are on a platform.

Scenario
EduSystem
Lumi
Not that use case — EduSystem is an LMS, not a file editor
Desktop editor — free
Lab on its own — $7/mo, and there is already somewhere to host the finished activity
Cloud Pro ≈ €10/mo (≈ $11.5) — editor only; hosting the activity on your own site or LMS is extra
Free plan ≤5 students + optional Lab $7/mo
Cloud Free (uploads up to 15 MB)
Already included in the single Lab $7/mo add-on — no separate higher tier for this
Cloud Pro ≈ €10/mo (≈ $11.5) — a separate plan step specifically for this
Gold $25/mo (or $20 with annual billing) + Lab $7/mo ≈ $32/mo for the whole project
Lumi does not replace a full platform: Pro €10 covers only the content editor; an LMS (for example Moodle hosting) is a separate cost
$0 + optional Lab $7/mo
Cloud Free / Desktop
Platinum $50/mo (+ optional Lab $7/mo)
Lumi Pro does not scale “by student count” — that is not its billing parameter
Do not compare EduSystem’s $32/mo directly with Lumi Pro’s €10 as if they were the same product: the first is the cost of the whole project with students, the second is only the content editor without an LMS. Lumi prices are from help.lumi.education as of 2026; the EUR/USD rate is indicative and can change. EduSystem plans: edusystem.app/pricing.

At the turnkey course-setup rate ($5/hour) or by separate agreement — depends on volume
For the first time, I felt that no one was trying to squeeze money out of me — they were genuinely invested in growing my business. EduSystem took over half our routine work and even built two custom activities just for our school.
Unprompted review
For us, as a driving school, the result mattered most: the final exam matches the real format at the MVS service center one-to-one. Students arrive at the actual exam already prepared, instead of encountering the format for the first time.
Questions
FAQ about EduSystem and Lumi
No. It is a tool for creating, hosting, and exporting H5P content; a full platform comes from your LMS (for example Moodle) or a separate platform such as EduSystem.
Lab is a direct competitor to tools like Lumi: the same class of H5P technology, a no-code builder, and we deliberately promote it as a standalone product (see EduSystem Lab). The bonus is that Lab lives in the same ecosystem as the rest of the platform: there is somewhere to host finished content, a support team, and custom development — all at $7/mo, without paying separately for hosting or hunting for a place to publish the activity.
If you need SCORM or HTML export for another platform today, or you already have Moodle or WordPress where you embed H5P — Lumi is the better fit for that.
Lab currently supports export as an .h5p file; HTML and SCORM export are in development. If you critically need a ready SCORM package right now, that is still Lumi’s strength.
Lumi Cloud Pro is about €10/mo (≈$11.5) for the content editor alone. EduSystem for a ~25-student project with interactives is Gold $25/mo + Lab $7/mo ≈ $32/mo for the whole project, including the student dashboard, analytics, and the support team. These are different products in scope — compare against what you actually need: editor only, or the whole project.
Yes — on request the team migrates .h5p content by hand. The cost depends on volume and is billed at the turnkey course-setup rate ($5/hour) or by separate agreement. Send a request on the contact page.
Not for the base scenario — EduSystem is already a full LMS. Lumi, by contrast, is often chosen by people who already have Moodle or WordPress and only need an H5P layer on top. If you are comparing with Moodle as an LMS, there is a dedicated EduSystem vs Moodle page.
