How a Driving School Replaced Its Legacy LMS with EduSystem

About the client

Asociatsia Avtoshkil is the first driving school in Ukraine to fully move theoretical training online. Founded in 2005, it has trained over 12,000 graduates and holds official accreditation from the MVS Service Center of Ukraine.

The school combines 24/7 online theory, 3D video materials, simulators, and MVS exam practice tests with in-person lessons from certified instructors — making it one of the most experienced players in the online driver training market in Ukraine.

The problem: a legacy LMS holding back growth

Before switching to EduSystem, the school used a custom-built LMS platform developed back in 2008. Over the years, it became the main obstacle to growth. What the team dealt with every day:

Outdated stack and design

the online learning platform looked and worked like 2008. Mobile adaptation existed but was so poor that using it on a smartphone was frustrating — yet most students were learning on mobile.

Poorly designed admin panel

technically it existed, but working with it was stressful and confusing. No structure, no search across 1,500+ questions. Editing felt risky: hard to find anything, easy to accidentally delete something. Multilingual support was a separate headache: all translations had to be entered manually. EduSystem has a built-in AI translator that handles content translation into any language automatically.

Expensive support

every change turned into a price negotiation. Even minor fixes were billed as separate jobs.

No video protection

course materials could be downloaded or stolen with no technical barriers.

Weak analytics

no way to see the full picture: where students got stuck, completion rates, where they dropped off.

Most dangerous: no backups

the previous team made no backups at all. Any technical failure could have wiped all data permanently.

How we met

I first met the director of Asociatsia Avtoshkil back in 2017 on a freelance platform — he was looking for a developer to build a landing page. Since then I've been working with the school as Fractional CTO: helping develop not just the technical side, but the business as a whole.

When we started building EduSystem — a white-label LMS platform for educational projects — it was immediately clear: Asociatsia Avtoshkil would be the first partner where we could test the platform under real conditions with real students.

If you want to understand the branded-platform model, read White-Label LMS: What It Is and Who It Is For . Current plans and student limits are on the EduSystem pricing page .

The solution: an LMS for a driving school, built for real needs

We didn't just move content to a new online learning platform. We built a training system tailored to the specifics of driver preparation and MVS Service Center requirements.

Learning structure

The course follows the logic: Module → Lesson → Activities

Each lesson contains multiple activities. One activity = one video lesson + a quiz with hints on wrong answers. The hint can be text, video, audio, or an image — the instructor configures this independently in the LMS admin panel.

After each lesson — a unit test: the system randomly selects questions from all material covered in that lesson. The number of questions, time limit, and passing score are all set by the instructor.

The key feature: a mock exam identical to the MVS Service Center test

This is the most important thing we built specifically for Asociatsia Avtoshkil.

Students take a final exam in a format as close as possible to the real MVS Service Center exam. Same format, same principles, same conditions. Students arrive at the real exam prepared — they already know exactly what to expect. This is what separates a quality LMS for a driving school from a simple video course.

What else the school received

  • Modern admin panel — instructors independently edit questions, add materials, and restructure courses
  • Video protection — school materials are protected from unauthorized downloads
  • Mobile adaptation — fully functional on smartphones
  • Detailed analytics — per-student progress, completion rates, test results
  • Student technical support — if something doesn't work, we're always available
  • AI translator — automatic content translation into any language without manual work

Results

The school started with 5 test students. At the time of publishing this article, 21 students are actively learning on the platform — and the number is steadily growing.

Students who completed the full online driver training course pass the theoretical exam at the MVS Service Center on the first attempt.

"We moved our distance learning to EduSystem. Students go through video courses, after each topic — a test, and at the end — an exam in a format as close as possible to the real MVS Service Center exam. That was the key moment for us: people come to the service center prepared, not learning for the first time at the exam. The old platform had served its purpose — EduSystem gave us the ability to move forward."

What students say

Read the review on Google Maps

"I almost didn't believe I could learn the theory, it seemed too much for me. But the teaching here is so accessible that I actually enjoyed it and learned with enthusiasm. I highly recommend studying here. And by the way... I passed on the first try. 20 out of 20... I'm in shock myself 🤣"

Read the review on Google Maps

"The theoretical part left a very good impression: it's convenient that there's a separate website with lectures where everything is explained clearly and accessibly. Thanks to this, I passed the theory exam on the first try (20/20)."

"I studied theory through videos, everything is clear and accessible in every lesson — I passed the theory exam on the first try!"

Conclusion

Asociatsia Avtoshkil is an example of how the right LMS for a driving school changes not just the convenience of operations, but the quality of the final outcome for the student.

We didn't just replace an old online learning platform with a new one. We built a system around the school's specific needs — with an MVS-format exam, content protection, and an admin panel the instructor can manage independently. And we didn't stop there: the platform continues to evolve and improve based on the school's needs. Every request from the team becomes a task we take on. That's what real technology partnership looks like.

That's how EduSystem works: not a template solution, but a tech partner that builds and grows alongside you.

If you have an educational project and want to migrate to a modern LMS or launch an online school from scratch — we're ready to help personally.
